I'm not a very political person. You won't find me at rallies waving huge cardboard signs, narrowly avoiding poking someone's eye out. You probably won't even find me watching any convention footage, unless my husband has the remote.
However, I caught a little snippet of some of Hillary's speech last night, and to be honest, I'm kind of relieved she won't be the nominee. She sounded like a robot, and I don't think I could listen to that for (another) 4 years; it hurt my head.
I did hear some of Michelle Obama's speech the night before, and I was impressed with her speaking ability. I am not sure I'm an Obama supporter, but it was hard not to feel moved listening to her speak.
Only time will tell who I'll end up voting for. I certainly don't know at this point.

Anniversary Update
For those who were just dying to know..
Dinner Friday night was at St Elmo's Steakhouse in downtown Indianapolis. It's a lovely restaurant with absolutely delicious steaks. The kicker is that it's also spendy (as the people in Minnesota would say). Our trip Friday was our second in our 10 years of marriage.
We then drove around Indianapolis, just taking in the sights before heading back to our apartment. [Think what you want at this point]
We then got up and went to the zoo at opening time, 9 am. We walked the entire zoo (starting with the koalas) in a couple hours, sat in on a dolpin show, and then headed for brunch. Then I went to work for some much need overtime, both for the money and the need for the time without interruptions.
It was a good weekend, even if there weren't any flowers involved.

Happy Anniversary to Me!
Today is my 10th wedding anniversary. For those of you who know me, know that I'm way too young to be celebrating this particular anniversary already. ;)
Bill and I were married in 1998 at the ripe old ages of 21 & 20, respectively. We were too young to be getting married, and I would never suggest to people that age to get married. Finish school first, then get married. I guess it's hindsight speaking.
I'm not sure what the plans for tonight are, I'll be finding out in the next hour or so. All I know is that tomorrow is a quick trip to the zoo for the visiting koalas, and then probably some overtime.
Such a fun excititng weekend!

THEY KILLED MARIAN!!!
I just finished watching the season 2 finale for the BBC series "Robin Hood" which has become one of my must-see tv shows in the summer. I'm a little behind on the tivo-ed stuff, so that's why I just finished watching the finale.
Much like the rest of this season, the finale was action packed, and completely unpredictable. ESPECIALLY when Marian got run through with a sword, by a guy (not Robin) who had been spending the last two seasons confessing his undying love for her.
Talk about not expecting that! I'm not sure where Robin goes from here. The love of his life, murdered by his enemy. I'm going to assume his new quest (in addition to feeding the poor) will be to avenge Marian's death.
Rumors abound that the upcoming season 3 is Jonas Armstrong's last year as Robin, which means it could be my last season to watch. I just don't know who could replace him. Oh well, maybe now he'll get to be on the big screen over here on this side of the pond!

Things that make you go hmmmmm
I just read an article about a 16 year old who was killed when she lost control of her car. The emphasis of the article was the fact that just before she crashed, she sent a text message on her phone.
Apparently of lesser importance was the fact that she was 16 and driving drunk, because according to the article "Preuss' mother Kelly said she hopes the accident will make other people think before texting and driving."
Don't get me wrong, texting and driving is a very dangerous habit. Being drunk at 16 to me is a bit more concerning. Put the two together, and you're guaranteed a disaster.

State Fair Thoughts
I went to the state fair last night - by myself. It wasn't really my idea of fun, but since my husband works retail, I generally have to do things alone or not do anything at all. The latter is getting on my nerves, so I've decided that if I have the time (which really means money) to do something, I'm just going to do it.
Yesterday was payday, and I wanted to go to the fair, so I went. I got to the fair just in time for a 20 minute parade of old tractors, just the thing I wanted to see. I wandered through a few exhibit halls and the llama barn before purchasing a huge bag of cotton candy and heading back to my car.
I was there about 2 hours, and walked the full circle of the fairgrounds, which was good exercise. My only mistake in the path that I chose was that I headed west, at 6 pm, so the sun was in my eyes for the better part of the evening. Oh well, that's how it goes.

Continuing from elsewhere
Welcome to my new home!
I've decided to "move" my blog from livejournal. The word "move" is a bit deceptive, as I'm not importing posts from the old place to the new, just not going to be updating there any more.
I may need to reference posts from there, and if I do, I'll link back to it so no one gets lost.
